Leeds Cancer Centre Innovation Partnership project shortlisted for 2024 HSJ Partnership Awards

A pioneering partnership that aims to propel Leeds Cancer Centre to the forefront of cancer care both nationally and internationally, has been shortlisted for an esteemed HSJ Partnership Award.

The 15-year partnership extension between Ergéa UK, St James’s Oncology SPC Ltd (SJO), Equans, and Leeds Cancer Centre, part of Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, has been nominated for the ‘Best Healthcare Provider Partnership’ in recognition for its outstanding dedication to improving healthcare and effective collaboration with the NHS.

The partnership will see Ergéa UK provide Leeds Cancer Centre with a comprehensive range of radiology and radiotherapy systems. This includes advanced imaging and medical equipment, ensuring the continued availability of cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities.

This equipment update includes 26 radiology systems and 19 radiotherapy systems, as well as an enhanced equipment and refurbished rooms to create a modern, attractive environment. In addition, Ergéa UK’s services ensure around the clock monitoring, maintenance, and support for critical cancer equipment, guaranteeing uninterrupted patient care and access to the latest technological upgrades.

The partnership has already yielded significant benefits for patients with the addition of a state-of-the-art MRI Simulator, made possible through charitable funding from the Leeds Hospitals Charity. The Leeds Cancer Centre is one of the select few centres in England to offer this cutting-edge imaging technology, which produces high-definition, high-contrast images that enable precise, targeted treatments while minimising side effects.

On behalf of all the partners, we are delighted to have been shortlisted for a HSJ award. The partnership unites specialised healthcare expertise, cutting-edge technology, and infrastructure proficiency, reaffirming our commitment to enhancing patient experiences, improving outcomes, and delivering world-class cancer treatment.”
